6 Week Summer Extern Program$18.00/hr The summer Extern program was just what I needed to gain experience and boost my confidence going into this career. I appreciated the time each nurse took with me to help me learn processes and grow in my abilities. This was a very positive experience and I would 100% recommend it to future nurses. - Amanda Harden, Mercy Extern Overview: During your six-week externship, you will have the opportunity to experience working with a preceptor. You may also choose to shadow in additional departments. Discover where your passion for nursing is leading you at Mercy!Qualifications: Education: Completed one year of RN clinicals at an accredited School of Nursing with anticipated December 2025 to May of 2026 graduationCertifications: BLS Certification required before assigned to care for patients independently Additional Documents Required: In addition to the online application the following documents must be emailed to Chelsea.Williams@Mercy.net: - Electronic Transcript - Skills Checklist signed by Clinical Instructor- Personal Statement. Should include answers to the following questions:

• Why did you choose nursing as a profession?
• What unit are you most interested in and/or tell us about the best clinical experience you've had so far and why (do not share the name of the facility)?
• What is your ideal work environment? Application and Supporting Documents must be submitted by Monday, Feb 24th, 2025 in ONE EMAIL - please send documents only, no photos of documents will be accepted. Multiple emails and profiles without uploaded resume will be considered incomplete.
